PSWG...So far in my computer class we have been taking Power Searching with Google classes. It is teaching my classmates and I how to search and what better pages to click on. Before we started that we made our own account to My Digital Life. It is like a teenage cartoon, but it is really fun to watch. I learned what not to do online. Like to not copy copyrighted media, watching out from viruses, and what to do from getting hacked. I'm glad I had this experience because I'm like always on an electronic.

Digital Portfolio... On the left is my certificate from finishing "My Digital Life". This experience was very fun , because of how the modules looked. I also learned lots about using technology, like how to keep your computer: virus-free, updated, and hacked. I now know how to pick a good computer. You want a device that represents you. For example if you are a type of person that loves to type assignments, you want a device that has lots of hard drive space to save your assignments. If you want to keep your computer virus-free, you want make sure what you download. Downloading unsafe stuff can make have your computer in harm, and now I know what to do when dealing with technology and devices.

A Google A Day...So today I tried one of those new Google polls to answer, and it was really fun. They give us questions that look very hard to answer so Google lets us search for the answer and the good thing about that is that I know better ways how to search. Since I took the Power Searching with Google course, it helped me a whole lots about how to search in a faster, better way. PSWG (Power Searching with Google) taught me good things that I never knew Google had on their search bar.

Multimedia Project...
Presentation: Prezi In the past, I've used Prezi (below) for a couple of my presentations, and I quite enjoy it. I think its styles and formats are very fascinating and eye catching. Since I have a bit of experience with Prezi, this presentation was easier than I actually that it would be.
As if you didn't know, Prezi is a website that allows you to create your own presentation using its templates. Everything goes by a path, from the one slide to the next. Another thing is that your presentation doesn't have to be in slides. It also convert it into a video and just watch the presentation. The reason why I used Prezi, is not only for the experiences, also because I thought I would present my presentation better. Everything would be easier for me and for my fellow classmates that are learning off of my presentation. |
Google Forums: DNA Extraction Review On the right is my instant feedback quiz that I created. The meaning of this quiz is to help the viewers study and kind of review what they just learned. And I bet you're were wondering, how did you make this? Well I made this through Google Forms. I really like how you can easily move things around. That saved lots of time.
If you didn't know what instant feedback is, well in my own words is I think its feedback that can help you fix your mistakes and things you got incorrect instantly. This method helps people kind of remember the actual answer so they won't make the same mistake again. |
Multimedia: Glogster I chose to use Glogster (above) for my multi-media project because in my opinion Glogster is a big help if you want to explain something a little more. Well the reason why I made this Glogster, is to let my viewers have a better understanding from the Prezi presentation, of extracting DNA from strawberries.
As you can see, I added two definitions that involved with the presentation, a specific photo of how your experiment should look, and a video of someone doing the experiment, with lots of hands on movement. |
Google Forums: Strawberry DNA Extraction Quiz Now, on the left I have my "Strawberry DNA Extraction Quiz" and it's a quiz that would let me know the overall knowledge you have after reviewing and going through my Prezi presentation. This quiz is just one of those quizzes when you just answer the question to go to next.
I thought making this quiz was a piece of cake, since I have lots of experience with Google Forms. Not only that, Google Forms makes things very simple. You can easily just created the question you want. It can be a multiple choice, checkboxes, choose from a list, and even grids. |
