So this weekend, it's my culture's new year! It goes on for about two to three days. It's very fun, it's like a festival, and the food is amazing. Each year I have been in the parade they put on, but I don't think I am this year. Just to let you know, once you first step in the temple, you can already see people everywhere, hear loud Laotian music, and smell delicious food being prepared. Plus they also have fun stations for kids, such as bounce houses, face painting, and a dancing mat.

So the past three days have been very tiring. That's because I'm trying out for softball. There are lots of great players that tried out, but there are only 18 spots on the team. Since there were 28 girls that tried out, 10 are going to be cut off. I really hope I'm not one of those ten girls.
On the first day of softball tryouts, I was very nervous. Luckily, my friends were there, but actually I think I did a great job. We caught lots of pop flies and grounders. On the second day we kind of did the same thing as the first day, but we showed the coach and manager how fast and well us players run to the bases. The third day, we were supposed to bat but our friends from high school were having a baseball game. So all that was canceled, so we did some more running and catching. The day after that was the last day of try outs. I showed them my hardest.
